Wednesday, August 24, 2011 - Canada's Most Haunted

Tonight's show definitely had an eerie edge compliments of local tornado warnings and our very special guest Michelle Derochers from Canada's Most Haunted and Burlington Ghost Walks. Thunder, lightening and flickering lights set the stage for a night of surprises and a metaphorical trip to the other side.

Back from her trip to Lily Dale, (a small spiritual community 60 miles south of Buffalo), Michelle spoke of a quiet, dreamy town eminating peace and tranquility. "Lily Dale is the largest spiritual community in the world where time has stood still. It's all about being in touch with nature. Their mediums have to be registered. Each year they are tested by the Assembly based on client feedback from personal experiences. It's a great place to begin your spiritual journey, meeting like-minded individuals along the way. We learnt that "Ghost-Busting" is a very old term that went out with Dan Acroyd. Michelle prefers spirit research when sharing stories from Burlington's Ghost Walk. In preparation for tonight's show I joined Michelle outside Emma's Back Porch last Saturday night where friends of the paranormal joined together for an evening of good old-fashioned hair standing up on the back of your neck fun. Patrick Cross (who called in to our show) mesmerized the crowd with tales of ghostly happenings derived from a year's worth of research. Many found the tour successful with sightings of spirit children who once played within the town's downtown core. (Burlington Ghost Walks run from May to December with year-round private group tours of 10 or more.)

Other topics were astro-travel/out of body experiences, case files, guardian angels & guides, past lives and various devices such as the ever popular, yet contraversial ghost box AKA Telephone To The Dead. Michelle will be joining us again on October 19th, treating us to some of her photographs and voice recordings captured from the spirit world (some said to be demonic). Although we can't see you, we suggest you dress in your finest Halloween attire to get in the groove for this ghostly gathering.

Wednesday, August 17, 2011 - A Little SOULBODY for the Soul

Our best show to date, Ask Your Angels skyrocketed from 50 viewers at one given time to over 740! Many thanks to Franco Minatel from Soulbody. Specializing in Energy Work, Numerology, Runes, Tarot and Astrology, Franco mesmerized our audience with startling historical facts and valuable insight. Theorizing stereotype witches with green, disfigured faces and noses derived from bloody persecutions at a time when many were condemned as practitioners of "witchcraft", Franco suggested more likely these women were victims - targets of convenience and opportunity. It's a tragic example of how those greedy with power achieved this by controlling the masses through terrorism and fear. Sadly, this form of control continues even today.

We discussed Tarot Readings & Runes. Runes should always be carved. Utilizing Norse mythology, one interprets the futhark to deliver magical messages. The futhark originally consisted of 24 letters, best to be picked up and scattered, preferably on a dark cloth (to absorb negative energy). Vikings poured mead in a hand-carved drinking horn. After drinking the mead, the runes would be placed inside the horn in preparation for readings. Franco's runes were constructed from deer antlers. One listener appeared satisfied to learn he could create runes with chicken bones. We're not judging.

It was evident Franco's passion is Astrology. An astrology chart is a picture of the heavens for a given place and time. Each chart or "horoscope" shows the positions of the planets and signs in 12 divisions called houses. Wednesday, August 10, 2011 - 12 21 2012 - The End of the Mayan Calendar

On tonight's show I was joined by Alison Price of Starzology - Astrology With Heart. We chatted about astrology and the end of the Maya Calendar. This date auspiciously falling on next year's winter solstice - December 21, 2012. [13.0.0.0.0] Alison shared some fabulous Mayan artwork from her recent trip to Mexico, including a colourful Mayan painting depicting her birthdate (which incidentally is tomorrow - happy early birthday Alison!)

We had a call in from Franco Minatel (Soulbody) who gave us some insight into numerology. Franco determined Alison was a "7 11" to which Alison remarked, "That's convenient!" Franco will join me on next week's show for further discussions on numerology, in addition to insights into Wican and Pagan Priests, Tarot Cards and much more.

Alison shared some family history with us. Her grandmother was an astrologist and her mother read tea leaves. After being invited to a fancy dress affair at a neighbour's house, Alison's mom arrived dressed as Gypsy Rose Lee. Offering tea cup readings, she entertained a line-up of guests for the remainder of the evening. We learnt these type of readings aren't limited to tea alone. Coffee, wine and dinner plates can also provide a glimpse of your future.

As for our destiny, does the Mayan calendar predict the end of the world? Mayan scholars don't believe so. I believe in the laws of attraction and the power of positive thinking. You can bet those doomsday believers have already envisioned our fate. With all that negative energy flying around, who knows what the outcome may be? I do believe the Mayan calendar represents the end of a cycle. This is a new beginning for all of us. As we enter a spiritual age of positive thinkers, the outcome can be anything we want it to be. We control our destiny. We have the power to change the world and make it a better place.

If it's the end of the world as we know it, so be it. The world I see ahead is filled with love, hope, forgiveness, kindness and compassion; and that's exactly where I want to live.

On tonight's show I was joined by my friend Barb Phoenix as we discussed Crystals and their healing elements.  On earth we are all connected, for we share a common lifesource - energy.  Recalling a time when cradling a Tiger's Eye stone in my palm, I remember feeling a tiny heartbeat like that of a baby.  As every stone derives from minute crystals (which are in constant motion) they emit a frequency or energy signature.

Stones and crystals come in a multitude of colours; some appealing, some not.  When choosing a crystal find the one that speaks to you, on a spiritual level of course.  I've yet to hear a rock say, "Hi chum!", however you may feel a surge of energy when you pick it up. 

When practicing crystal therapy, some say the best results come from keeping the crystal under your pillow.  Perhaps I don't have the best pillows because this method does not appeal to me at all.  Therefore I keep the various healing stones in a clear vase.  Many prefer to wear the crystals around their neck, wrist, or placed on their bodies.  It is recommended that you use only 3 crystals at once as it's important to find those that compliment one another.  This would be more challenging as your crystals increase in numbers.

How are healing crystals connected to Guardian Angels?  Each Archangel resonates a particular gemstone.  For instance, Archangel Raphael radiates an emerald green light.  Archangel Ariel gives off a pink hue.  You may recall us talking about the Rose Quartz - it helps with healing a wounded heart.  Judging by the HUGE rock I used as an example, you can see I have issues.  lol. 

We also discovered Opal opens the door to many possibilities.  I recalled a time when there was a stigma against Opals being worn at weddings.  Barb asked, "Why do you suppose that is?" to which I replied, "I suppose with all those possibilities opening up, the bride might have second thoughts as to who she was about to marry."

All in all it was a fun evening.  Barb and I were delighted you could join us.  We try to reveal as much as possible during our show.  However, it has been brought to my attention that I may have revealed too much.  Therefore it's quite possible you may see me wearing a turtleneck next week.
